Samsung's newest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, recently received eco-friendly certificates in four countries: US, UK, Brazil, and Russia.
In the US, the two Galaxy handsets received the highest Sustainability Product Certification (SPC) from safety testing and certification organization UL (Underwriters Laboratories). According to Samsung, the devices were recognized for "meeting a series of rigorous criteria on toxic material, energy efficiency, recyclability of product and packaging, as well as the manufacturer’s social responsibility practices."
