Ever wondered how many mobile phones are going to be shipped worldwide by the end of 2014? Well, Gartner says that the number you are looking for is just shy of 1.895 billion devices - a 4.6% increase in comparison with the 1.807 billion devices, shipped back in 2013. Looking even further ahead into the future, Gartner predicts that roughly 1.953 billion mobile phones will be sold in 2015. According to the research company, the main culprits for this growth will be the increased sales in "the lower end of the premium market and the higher end of the basic phone market".
