Canadian carrier Fido in the doghouse after charging customers for something they didn't use

Fido, the Canadian carrier owned by Rogers, has pulled a boner which has put the mobile operator in the doghouse (Come on, with a name like Fido how could we refrain from writing that line?) A small number of Apple iPhone users were charged for data roaming even though the 'Data Roaming' switch was turned off on their handset.



As a result of this faux pas, some Fido customers received the "$7.99/50MB" charge on their bill for data roaming, with some getting charged for several days even when as little as 20KB of data had been used. And considering that Apple says that disabling data roaming ...
