Google Play Edition devices go extinct: the HTC One (M8) GPE is no longer available

Earlier this month, Google stopped selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, leaving the HTC One (M8) as the only GPE handset available to buy. Starting today, the HTC One (M8) GPE - pictured on the left - is no longer available, either. This means that we have to say farewell to the entire Google Play Edition series of devices.



As you probably know, the difference between the One (M8) GPE and the regular version of the handset is that the former runs stock Android - recently updated to Lollipop - without HTC's Sense UI.



Of course, Google might introduce other Play Edition ...
