New LG smartwatch visits FCC; timepiece offers CDMA connectivity, coming to Verizon

Now that Samsung has introduced the stand alone Samsung Gear S with 3G connectivity, LG is apparently getting ready to offer its own stand-alone smartwatch. According to FCC documentation, the LG VC-100 is a CDMA smartwatch that measures 57.7mm x 35.5mm, not including the strap. The watch has been tested for voice and data, and might include a built-in SIM card.



Unlike LG's other smartwacthes, the LG VC-100 does not need to be paired with a nearby smartphone in order to make/take calls. The timepiece is apparently on its way to Verizon for a launch in the current quarter, or the first quarter ...
